Dr. Valerie Young, an internationally recognized expert on impostor syndrome, has spoken at several diverse organizations including Google, Facebook, NASA among others, as well as at more than 100 universities around the world. Her award-winning book, “The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women: Why Capable People Suffer from Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of It” with Crown Business is available in six languages and her advice has appeared in dozens of major media outlets. No stranger to the corporate world, Dr. Young spent seven years in management in a Fortune 100 company. She earned her doctoral degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she studied internal barriers to women’s occupational achievement.
