Miami Presents Alumni Weekend: Kick-Off to Alumni Weekend Wine Tasting with Jack Keegan

We are excited to bring all the tradition and excitement of Alumni Weekend – along with some new twists on old favorites – right to you! You don’t have to be on campus to experience all the Love and Honor with our full slate of virtual events. 

Celebrate the start of Alumni Weekend 2021 with a Wine Tasting with Jack Keegan. Jack Keegan CWE, instructor of the Botany 244 Viticulture and Enology class for 25+ years.  For this year’s Alumni Weekend Jack has curated a Southern Hemisphere varietal tasting with a Latin Flair!  

Below is the list of the wines that Jack will discuss:

• '20 Stoneleigh Sauvignon Marlborough, New Zealand Alt ('20 Infamous Goose Sauvignon blanc NZ) 
• '19 Crios de Susana Balbo Torrontes Argentina 
• '20 Bodegas Ontanon Clarete (A note from Jack: Any Clarete from Spain will work!)  
• '17 Susana Balbo Signature Malbec
• '19 Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz Barossa Valley
• '18 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 

*If you are local to Cincinnati/Oxford both Jungle Jim's Fairfield and Oxford Spirits have these wines in stock. Jungle Jim's has them pre-boxed located near the wine cellar*

Jack will cover all wines, but you are not required to purchase them all. If you don't have them or can't find these specific brands, pull out a personal favorite and he will talk about them with you!

Most of these wines can be found on wine.com. If you are not able to find them online, check with your local wine shop.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. You must be 21+ to participate.

If you've already signed up for this event at miamialum.org/AlumniWeekend before registration closed, you do not need to register again as the viewing link will be sent to you 24 hours before the start.  Otherwise you can now register directly on this platform for each event in which you are interested.  Please reach out to alumniweekend@miamioh.edu with any questions.
