Join University Architect Emeritus Bob Keller ’73 as he takes you on a journey through the decades of Miami’s campus - the history, the layout, the buildings and their architecture. We will examine the development of our campus and buildings from a log school house built in 1811 along a dirt road that would become Campus Ave., to a university of 150+- buildings. Explore student life from students cutting their own firewood for the cast iron stoves in their small rooms in Stoddard & Elliott Halls, the beginnings of Greek life, impact of the Civil War, advent of sports, the first women students, from horse & buggy to trains to cars, on up through two World Wars, social upheaval of the 60's & 70's and a stroll to uptown Oxford and some of our favorite establishments!
