The desired outcome for the Western College Legacy Seminars is to provide a forum for Miami University faculty, students, and the community at large to learn and debate topics critical to the health, well-being and development of the global community.

Although national elections matter, local cities and towns often provide the best case studies of democracy in action. Denisha Porter '03 is the Executive Director of the All-In Cincinnati Coalition at Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and will discuss the importance of local coalition-building to democracy. The 150+ member Coalition of businesses, nonprofit, and government organizations is working to dismantle racial inequities in health, housing, education, economic mobility and justice, with the goal to uplift Black women in Hamilton County through policy and systems change.
. All-In Cincinnati seeks to co-create and implement an equity action plan to transform our tristate community, and Porter is the driving force leading the coalition's work to shape that vision. Porter was recognized with a Top 50 Women Leaders of Ohio award for 2023.

Alumni and friends are encouraged to attend in person in Miami's Psychology Building, Room 125 (walk-ups welcome) or to watch online. Attendance is free - walk-ups welcome or register for livestream. Please reach out to J.J. Slager with any questions at slagerjj@miamioh.edu.
